Pinched Nerve

A pinched nerve occurs when surrounding tissue, bone, cartilage, muscle, or a disc, puts pressure on a nerve, disrupting its function and causing pain, numbness, tingling, or weakness in the affected area. Pinched nerves can occur anywhere along the spine and are commonly caused by a herniated disc, bone spurs, or a vertebral misalignment (subluxation) narrowing the space where the nerve exits the spine.

How We Treat a Pinched Nerve at Club West Chiropractic

Our Blaine chiropractors perform a detailed neurological and orthopedic exam to locate exactly where the nerve is being compressed and what’s causing it. Chiropractic adjustments are used to correct spinal misalignments and restore proper joint space, taking pressure off the affected nerve.

For patients whose pinched nerve is related to a disc issue or hasn’t fully resolved with adjustments alone, we incorporate spinal decompression therapy. Decompression gently stretches the spine to reduce pressure within the disc and surrounding joint space, helping create room for the compressed nerve to heal.

If you’re experiencing shooting pain, numbness, or tingling, schedule an appointment so we can find the source.
